Samsung announced it new lines of external hard drives utilizing the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface for data transfer rates of up to 5 gigabits per second. Two portable hard drives and a desktop drive will be released.
Both portable hard drives offer up to 1TB capacity. One of them has curved sides for a comfortable grip and sleek, Scandinavia-inspired styling and wave-like matte finish. It comes in Brown black, Noble beige, Clay orange and Mist gray colors.
The premium portable model adds enhanced backup and security software, including Auto backup software for data backup, SecretZone for creating a secure virtual drive, and SafetyKey software to provide encrypted data backup and password-setting. It also includes 256-bit Full Disk Encryption to provide additional security on a hardware basis. The premium portable drive comes with a high-gloss cases embedded with a multi-layered wave pattern in three jewel-tone colors; Onyx black, Sapphire blue and Coral pink.
The new desktop USB 3.0 hard drive has 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB storage capacities and will be available in Brown black and Noble beige.
